Day 1 - Srinagar to Sonamarg
You arrive at Srinagar (International Airport) in the morning.
You will be picked up by a taxi and brought to your hotel in Sonamarg.
On the way you pass …
If you want to have your taxi driver stop at one or all of these locations, do inform him beforehand, as you may be requested to pay him a tip.
Upon reaching your hotel, you will receive a welcome drink and a little snack.
Suggested sights/activities for the today:
Zero Point Sonamarg is a location next to Sind River with two small ponds where one may be able to hire a paddleboat (seasonal) and picknick. There is also a larger field to be used for playing football or other sport activities. In order to get to Zero Point Sonamarg, you may walk the about 3 km or hire a taxi from your hotel.
Enjoy your dinner at your hotel.

Day 2 - Trekking/Horse Ride to Thajiwas Glacier
After you got up, enjoy your breakfast!

- In the morning: Horse ride to Thajiwas Glacier
- In the afternoon: Drive to Zojila pass and Gateway to Ladakh
Thajiwas Glacier is THE tourist attraction in Sonamarg. In the morning, your hotel will provide you with horses to reach this beautiful location in a comfortable way. It is so well known that a horse would probably take you there blindfolded. The distance is about 5 km. If you are up for a walk you can also cover this distance by walking. It is very likely that you’ll be able to see some snow and even have the possibility to ride a sledge, depending on the season.
In the afternoon, your hotel will provide you a taxi to take you up to Zojila pass and Gateway to Ladakh. Though Zoji La Pass and Gateway to Ladakh may be only about 25 km away from your hotel, it may take you 1 to 1.5 hrs to reach by taxi, due to the difficult terrain. What can you expect? In this case “The journey is the reward”! Awesome views and lots of dust are guaranteed.

- Drive to Baltal Base Camp
Baltal Base Camp is kind of a valley in itself and one of the two starting points for the very famous Armanath Yatra, a Hindu pilgrimage (the other starting point for the Yatra is in Aru/Pahalgam). The Sind River is there and you may spot the new Zojila Tunnel under construction, which will provide an all year access to Leh/Ladakh once completed. The roughly 15 km journey takes about half an hour by taxi.
Congratulation, you made it! After a long day outside with lots of fresh air and exercise you should be able to sleep well after your dinner at the hotel!
Day 3 - Sonamarg to Srinagar
You receive your breakfast at the hotel. After checking out, your taxi will be waiting for your return trip to Srinagar International Airport.
