17 February 2026: J&K govt opens 14 more tourist destinations in Jammu & Kashmir
After the Pahalgam attack, the J&K government closed many tourist destinations as a preventive measure to safeguard the lives of both tourists and locals. Now 14 more destinations re-opened.
Locations which got reopened may include: Yousmarg and Doodhpathri in Budgam; Dandipora park in Kokernag, Anantnag; Peer Ki Gali, Dubjan and Padpawan in Shopian; Astanpora and Tulip Garden in Srinagar; Thajwas glacier and Hung Park in Ganderbal and Wullar-Watlab in Baramulla; Devi Pindi in Reasi, Mahu Mangat in Ramban, and Mughal Maidan in Kishtwar.
After snow clearance following destination would also reopen: Gurez and Athwatoo in Bandipora, Bangus in Kupwara, and Ramkund in Ramban.

01 October 2025: India launches e-Arrival Card for foreign nationals
The Government of India has started an e-Arrival card which will then replace the hardcopy which had to be filled in before proceeding to immigrations upon arrival in India.
The e-Arrival card can be filled in max 72 hours before arrival to India.

26 September 2025: J&K govt opens again more tourist destinations in Kashmir
After the Pahalgam attack, the J&K government closed many tourist destinations as a preventive measure to safeguard the lives of both tourists and locals. End of September, more got reopened.
Locations which got reopened may include: Aru Valley, Rafting Point Yanner (near Pahalgam), Akkad Park (road to Pahalgam), Padshahi Park (in Bijbehara), Kaman Post (Uri), Dagan Top (Ramban District), Ramban (Jammu), Dhaggar (Kathua District), Shiv Cave (Reasi District).

Locations which got reopened may include: Beetab Valley (Pahalgam), Verinag (Anantnag), Kokernag (Anantnag), Achabal Gardens (Anantnag), Badamwari Garden (Srinagar), Duck Park (Srinagar), Taqdeer Park (Srinagar), Parks around Pahalgam Market Area, Sarthal (Kishtwar), Baggar (Reasi), Devi Pindi (Rajouri), Sehar Baba Waterfall (Reasi), Sulha Park (Udhampur), Gul Danda (Doda), Jai Valley (Bhaderwah), Panchari (Udhampur)

29 April 2025: J&K govt closes 48 tourist destinations in Kashmir
After the Pahalgam attack, the J&K government closed now 48 tourist destinations as a preventive measure to safeguard the lives of both tourists and locals.
Locations as of now include Yousmarg, Tousmaidan, Doodpathri, Aharbal, Kousarnag, Bangus, Kariwan Diver Chandigam, Bangus Valley, Wular/Watlab, Rampora and Rajpora, Chearhar, Mundij-Hamam-Markoot Waterfall, Khampoo, Bosnia, Vijitop, Sun Temple, Verinag Garden, Sinthan Top, Margantop, Akad Park, Habba Khatoon Point, Babareshi, Ringawali, Gogaldara, Baderkote, Shrunz Waterfall, Kamanpost, Namblan Waterfall, Eco Park Khadniyar, Sangarwani, Jamia Masjid, Badamwari, Rajori Kadal, Aali Kadal, Padshapal resorts, Faqir Gujri, Dara, Astanmarg View Point, Astanmarg Paragliding, Mamneth and Mahadev Hills, Buddhist Monastery, Dachigam – Beyond Trout Farm / Fisheries Farm, Astanpora, especially Qayam Gah resort, Lachpatri, Hung Park and Naranag.

21 November 2022: Updated Guidelines for International Arrivals to India
As from 21 November 2022, all major Covid restrictions have been removed.
It is not necessary anymore to fill in any form or to upload any vaccination certificate or RT-PCR certificate.

15 March 2022: Restoration of (e-)Tourist Visa to India
The Indian Government has restored regular/paper tourist visas and e-tourist visas. I.e. visas which have been issued in the past in this regard and which are not yet expired can be used again to travel to India.
In addition, a person can now also apply again for a regular/paper tourist visa apart from e-tourist visa. The regular/paper visa can have a validity of up to 5 years.
